Yaaay way to go team!

Gosh this year has been incredibly stressful for me. In retrospect being a palhoncho and a mod at the same time wasn't the best idea, but I had no idea what sort of work modding had in store. But it didn't matter because I had such an awesome team at my back. I didn't have to worry about a thing, you guys just swooped in and won us tons of points and made some amazing stuff. I'M SO PROUD, THANK YOU FOR JOINING ME ON TEAM ALPHA OT4!! <3 <3 <3 I love you all. ;w;

I hope you guys also had fun too and made some friends. I know I did!

DON'T YOU DARE NOT KEEP IN TOUCH I love you guys.

Also we got this too: GOOD WORK TEAM

I got to post the results for the collab round voting and we've got 4th place!!! Ahh!! GOOD WORK TEAM I'M SO PROUD.

I was thinking it might be nice to make a post with the project on AO3, just going right to the website just so we can all have the credit to the work made to the public for whoever wants to nose through our fandom contributions, hm?

WE'LL SEE SOON HOW WE ENDED UP IN THE FINAL SET

Hi Team!

There's a few days (???) for bonus round 6 and we've still got a lot of juicy fills we can grab for lots of points! If you have time, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could make some posts recommending your favourite stuff from the hso so far! These bonus points could win it for us!

Hooray! I hope we do well, ahh

Yeah yeah P&R

It's not public to the hso comm yet, but you can read it all right here!

If anyone would like to contribute some last minute edits and/or art, please do so. It's a lovely entry on it's own! But we should also be showcasing our artists, if we can! [personal profile] fayharley can add in stuff easily from the off-DW site.

Good work, team!!! Round 3 part 1 votes are due tonight, and hopefully we'll be seeing the results of Round 2 Part 2 soon!

I'm totally worn out after all this olympic-ing. We should watch some Parks and Rec tonight!
playerprophet: (Aranea)
Overdue for a movie night? I think yes.

So in the spirit of our collab round theme I will be streaming Alice in Wonderland tonight! The 1951 Disney version.

I'm pretty worn out so I'm not going to strictly promise anything time-wise, but it would be great if you're interested you could pop in on Skype beforehand. I'll probably start streaming sometime after 9pm EST, 2am GMT. And here's the link for later!

I meant to do this a lot sooner, but I totally forgot. I'm sorry, team!

I wanted to keep a post here just as a point breakdown so we can see exactly how we're doing and why. This might change when DoctorV is transferred but... for now, here goes!

CURRENT TOTAL: 3025
Pre-HSO Promo: 50
Bonus Round 0: 75
Bonus Round 1: 410
Bonus Round 2: 340
Main Round 1: 1980
Bonus Round 3: 170
Bonus Round 4: 400
Main Round 2: 180 for participating!

Voting bonuses have not been added to this number.

As of 7/23/12 I believe this, in fact, puts us in first? Unless the voting bonuses change things.

Okay this is super sudden, so I hope it's okay with everyone.

[personal profile] doctorv is signing up with Team Alphachronism in time to help us out with the bonus round!!! Doctor was a member of my team, John<>Vriska last year and has done all of the entries thus far for team Gamzee<3Jane. I've seen a couple of you murmuring about those!

DOCTOR IS A FABULOUS DUDE AND A GREAT FRIEND and I'm super excited I hope you all are too.

I had the honor of writing up the news myself!

THANK YOU GUYS FOR PARTICIPATING! AND THANK YOU TO [personal profile] ferrrox and [personal profile] veira for our prize-winning entry!

The Prompt for Round 3 is up! This one looks tricky.

The theme is "Balancing Act":
This round is a format challenge! Your R3 entry should be composed of two separate but related parts. They should be roughly equal in size/complexity; we're not going to be policing that, but the general idea is that they should balance each other in some way.

So it sounds like we can do most anything we please, as long as it's formatted creatively. I think this sort of prompt is where our artists will shine, but I know [personal profile] veira is a trooper and I'm curious about what she'll come up with!

Please discuss! I could use help getting some ideas.

Hello, team! I hope we can get together sometime soon about the collab round. Please let me know when is a good time for us to all have a chat together on Skype.

Here is also a friendly reminder that:
1. Please have your submissions for Round 2 in to me sometime on July 4th! I know you American types may be busy so you might want to send it in early (playerprophet at gmail!)

2. Please vote in Round 1! There's lots of neat entries you would love to check out, and even if you aren't able to get to everything the new voting form lets you account for entries you have not read. With each voting teammate, we get a big point bonus! So please vote! If we want others to vote for us, we need to at least do the same for them.

3. If you're not busy with your Round 2 entry, or reading Round 1 entries for voting, please consider participating in bonus round 2. Our team hasn't been quite as active in that one as we have the last one, so let's earn some extra points to get ahead!

Thanks team! You'll hear from me again by Wednesday.

In the previous post Dogtier posted their plan for a collab round, but we haven't really incited a discussion yet! Veira suggested maybe having a party chat. This sounds like a good plan too. How do you guys feel about it? Are you more comfortable in a Skype chat?

Please let me know when is a good time for you, and we can arrange a conversation.
playerprophet: (Default)
For voting and deciding our submissions + gathering art, please have your entry arranged and sent to me (playerprophet at gmail!) by July 4th. So, one week from today!

Actual entries are due on the 7th.

Hello team!

Last night the mod team posted an announcement about this year's voting system, and it's set up in brackets! Last year 40 entries seemed like too much reading every round, and this year we have 121 teams! So we've divvied up the work a bit.

So we are reading Section 3 Entries and the top 10 from our section will proceed to the next bracket. We'll have more reading there! But we will already have read the initial 10.

So in bracket 1 we read 29 entries, pick 10, and in the second bracket we only have 30 more to read that we haven't read!

I know this seems like a lot - and it is! This is the price we pay for having such a huge group this year. But it could be worse! We're reading about half of the actual entries and working to cut back on entries to read for other teams. Additionally, while I say "read" many of the entries are images, or comics that don't take very long. Others are 3000 word fics but all things considered, those are pretty short. If you're a writer you can appreciate how hard it is to make a good concept and squish it into 3000 words.

Additionally, in order to compensate for busy people and potential triggers, the voting system should have a spot for you to account for any entries you have not read. So if you're overwhelmed or busy, it's okay! You can still vote, and the percentages of what you weren't able to get to will be taken into account.

I'm going to try to post about the collab round later on tonight - sorry for spamming the site! Thank you guys for your patience, and let me know if you have any questions.
playerprophet: (Aranea)
Today is the day to turn in your round 1 submissions so we can vote on which one to submit, so please e-mail me your entries to playerprophet@gmail.com!

Your entry does not need to be 100% complete! You still have a few days. But I think we need to collect things, take a look, and have a little time for any artists to go to town to collab on fanfiction, so don't worry too much. If you were working on something and it's just not going to happen, that's okay too.

Hopefully this evening I'll make a post so we can vote on entries. Look forward to it!
